| Tasting Notes: | Our 2006 Reserve Chardonnay Carneros comes from the finest grapes - those with impeccable balance and the most intense flavors of our three Los Carneros vineyards. The wine's aromas of ripe peach and apricot are perfumed with honey and floral notes. The vibrant stone fruit flavors are supported by a rich mouthfeel and and enlivened with acidity from the cool Los Carneros climate. A high percentage of new oak barrels has given delicious clove and vanilla spiciness to the lingering, fruity finish. |
| Vineyard Notes: | Mother Nature showed her temperamental side in 2006—pounding us with heavy spring rain, making us sweat out a heat wave and then graciously providing perfect conditions during harvest. Rains lasted unusually late into spring, raising the total seasonal rainfall to 31 inches in the Los Carneros AVA. June tallied slightly above-average temperatures, and hot weather arrived in July. Napa’s renowned morning fog returned in August and continued through harvest to foster exceptional grapes. |
